Trying to understand the part where it sounds like she’s singing “hear you’re gonna D.” Could someone please tell me what she actually sings there?
0.46 - "What bag are you with?" - Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider are the interviewers. Both around 40, from NYC TV packaging and evidently still trying to catch up on the young groovy happenin' West Coast Scene, man. But they did make a sucessful show and on the profits financed "Easy Rider". And Huey Newton.
5:28 - Josh Hamiltonis indeed in Noahs next film
Maybe one day Criterion makes a proper Buffy the Vampire Slayer remaster- 🥺 (I know it's unlikely but let me HOPE)
Tbh... this bgm is dope
My favorite set of closet picks of all the visitors. And the best set of comments with the picks too!
Where the Sidewalk Ends is incredibly underrated, one of my favorite films of the 50s.
A "RightWing power monger.....that's Evil"....... "That's Evil"? Seriously? As if there was any other kind. Bah!
Carlos Reygadas es el Lars Von Trier y Yorgos Lathimos Méxicano.
❤❤❤
When i was a kid i hated the blob mostly of 88 remake but the original too because i hated small things like a Jell-O move but now i love the blob. But got to admit this song is catchy as hell though.
maya hawke please marry me
I have On the Waterfront many times. It is in my top 3 of all times. One slight criticism is that sometimes Bernstein's score seems to overwhelm certain scenes. Johnny Friendly is very under rated.
He was so good in Boardwalk Empire
I'm a lifelong fan of your dad and your mom. I'm 67. Do the math.
I never knew that this man liked Kwaidan a personal favourite of mine and movies made by Akira Kurosawa with Toshiro Mifune like the seven samurai. I always thought Hideo Kojima lived in another planet 🌏 😂.
Kentucky people getting there criterion bag!
It's summertime again which means that it's time to listen to Janis Joplin.
Can you imagine your grandpa being the DP for The Matrix 😯
She has a bit of Faye Dunaway in her, no?
I can't believe how much like her mother she lived...
Brilliant Brilliant as Always...!!!
3:40 you can see ethan mouthing the words. This is staged
Nerds.
She's the man😅
Nah, that films boring
One of the best actors even existed
Close your eyes and you'll hear Anxiety talking to The Grabber
I didn't know Scorsese edited Woodstock button 🔘
I'm glad Roger was able to visit the Criterion Collection before his passing. Thank you, Roger, RIP.
These Closet picks are all good, but this one kept it going. I always enjoy listening to each guest views on movies.
"Conventional culture always corrupts" 😢
Great closet picks!!! You are picking ALL THE WINNERS. I am so thrilled to see someone who can go from Sweet Sweetback's and I Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death to Company and All That Jazz! A couple of them that you mention are ones I haven't seen, but your taste and knowledge tell me that I MUST SEE all of your recs!
FAYETTEVILLE, NC! Wow, I never thought my hometown would be mentioned in a Criterion Collection Closet Picks video! Thanks, Jeremy!
That looks like the dvd section at Waterloo records.
I get 500 dexedrine a month have for the last 25 years,I love lucky strike and all that jazz
A Bill Pope lensed film that deserves a look if you haven't seen it is Zero Effect, a 90s riff on a Sherlock Holmes / Watson-esque relationship starring Bill Pullman and Ben Stiller. Highly recommended!
"Probably the purest trial movie ever made" - Michael Asimow, UCLA Law Professor and author.
This 5-min sequence is a masterclass in how to open a movie--brilliant!
Oh how I wish this man did the first Raimi Spider-Man. Still, we're lucky to have two out of three. Cinematography in modern blockbusters doesn't get better than Bill Pope.
Just watched I Saw The TV Glow. Mind blown! I want to work on your next film!
God I love this man!!!
I totally agree with you Wim: Until the End of the World is my favourite film. Not the best film I've ever seen (that's Tokyo Story) - but definitely my favourite. I'm astonished that I've not seen a single one of the other films you've picked out here. I will get to work on that...
MISHIMA is his masterpiece. Goat soundtrack too
Saw this film when it first came out. One of the greatest movies of all time. Casting was well nigh perfect. The finale was as near to cinematic perfection as you are ever likely to get. Still moves me 40 years on.
You both owe to the ONE. Uma Thurman
❤️
I would love to take a film class from Cheryl Dunye
They are soooo anoying
Dont smoke kids
